RE: Travel Trailer for Two

Airstream 25FB and 23FB If price is a problem you may be able to find a lightly used unit. Airstreams are nice, no doubt but they tend to be heavy. The OP will want to keep trailer GVWR below 5,000# if using a Colorado. My buddy pulled a nice Lance that was 5,000# with his Colorado and it worked fine but anything heavier probably would have had issues. Good luck. :C I just bought my trailer from a couple that full timed for two years and towed with a Duramax Colorado. This trailer weighs 4200 lbs ready to camp with 520 lbs. tongue weight. They said their set up worked great with an equalizer hitch. I agree with the Freedom Express suggestion on a suitable floor plan. Good Luck!

RE: Soaring Eagle Campers?

I've come to the conclusion that there is rv'ing and camping and an infinite number of points on the line btwn the 2. I find myself on the camping end of the spectrum in that I bring everything I need to camp outdoors. Others bring everything they need so they can have their home on wheels. Of course I'm not as old as many of you so as the the years roll on I may not be physically able to continue w a minimalist style. I'm probably going from a fully equipped Class B back to a four wheel camper shell model w nothing but a bed, solar, and batteries. Everything else I can bring as needed for a particular trip. My hesitation is my wife prefers more amenities, such as a shower, toilet, and sink w running water that I can easily do w/out or substitute a temporary solution. For instance in warm weather we might try to camp near a hot spring, stream or lake so we can swim, stay in a motel every few nights or pay for a shower. This is well said. I have had 2 previous non slide Lances. They both were nice but overkill for my needs. I camp and like to hike and chase birds. A lighter minimally equipped camper is more suitable for me.

RE: Soaring Eagle Campers?

Yes i have and am anxious to look at the ADLAR 6.5XL. The nearest dealer is 100 + miles from me. The little lady and i have looked at SCOUT campers near us and she does not like the minimalist concept. I looked at the way we travel and camp and honestly believe these are perfect for us. She does not like the open potty idea. We have had 2 Lances over the years and have never once used the showers. We cook outside frequently and tend to go to campgrounds occasionally just to use their shower. We have also used gyms and Truck stops. The Soaring Eagles look well built and are surprisingly inexpensive for the quality they seem to have. I have watched every video there is on youtube and am impressed.

RE: Lightweight, 6'5 Headroom, shower, 90's-2010's, suggestions?

Thanks! I am reading these, appreciate it, and any more options that happen to come to mind would be great! Are the lance 150/ 185/ 195 lite the same range as 'lance squire lite' ? I understand of course it's just a matter of whatever happens to come along on the used market, BUT if there are any that are guaranteed to be / likely to be a better fit - that means we could increase the search radius for something that is more likely to check off all these boxes Yes, they called them Squire Lite for a few years and then just Lance Lite afterwards. Marketing names. I like the roofs of Lances from this era as they were aluminum, easy to maintain and very durable. I still see a lot of these old Lance campers plying the roads.

RE: Lightweight, 6'5 Headroom, shower, 90's-2010's, suggestions?

Look at mid 90s to early 2000s Lance Lite 150, 185 and 195. I am searching for one of these myself as I no longer have an HD Truck but have a heavy hauling RAM 1500. The 150 is 6'3" ceiling height and the other 2 are 6'6" and have showers. Old Lance brochures are available on line. They are a great resource. Just search " 1995 Lance Brochure" for example. Some of these are lighter than the Lance 650. Good luck in your search!
